Equestrian Lighting Installations in Berkshire

Heros located at North Farm stud chose Bradburne Electrical to manage and install their indoor arena. Bradburne Electrical worked with lighting designer Ben Dewey of R & M Electrical group and suppliers Luceco.

Located at the North Farm Stud in Oxfordshire, the charity aims to rehome ex-racehorses after they retire, giving them an opportunity to enjoy a new life after racing.

A recent facility added to the North Farm Stud complex, is a state-of-the-art Indoor Arena and Education Hub which benefits from LED lighting supplied by Luceco. Ceres is a compact LED high bay luminaire utilising the latest lens technology. The luminaire offers 60, 90 and 120-degree lens variations and is available with on/off presence detection options, often a requirement in industrial applications.

Rated IP65, Ceres benefits from a computer designed die-cast aluminium housing with vortex cooling for maximum LED chip performance providing over 50,000 hours of operational life and a luminaire efficacy up to of 130 Llm/cW. The Ceres family also includes the Ceres Extra offering 140 Llm/cW and 70,000 hours of operational life and Ceres Ultra with 100,000 hours of working life.

The luminaires were supplied via Ben Dewey, Lighting Division Manager for R & M Electrical Group Ltd and the electrical installation was completed by Mark Bradburne of Bradburne Electrical. Readers may recollect that Mark is a retired jockey himself. JETS (Jockeys Employment & Training Scheme) helped Mark to retrain as an electrician and now has a successful electrical contracting business. Mark won over 350 races including two Cheltenham Festival winners, finishing third in the Grand National on Lord Atterbury, winning the Ascot Chase on Hand Inn Hand and a close run in the Gold Cup on Briery Fox!

IP65 rated Climate luminaires were also installed in external corridors. Climate Extra is a robust luminaire offering a market-leading efficacy of 140 Llm/cW and 50,000 hours operational life with increased performance for improved energy efficiency.

Fortis Wall Pack provided external lighting around the perimeter of the arena. Fortis offers an energy-efficient alternative to HID fittings with a 45W LED luminaire being the equivalent of a 70W traditional HID fitting, and a High Space to Height ratio providing the idea retrofit alternative to existing Wall Pack installations. With CRI>80, Fortis Wall Pack is ideal for areas with CCTV. Variants include standard output, photocell, and emergency options.
